Ahoy, Kathleen!
It is wonderful to hear from you again. My family was fortunate enough to experience an amazing
Alaskan voyage with Disney Cruise Line the summer of 2015, so I'm excited you are in midst of planning your vacation to the Last Frontier!
Like you, I researched all the options to get to
Vancouver and in the end we decided that it made the most sense to fly to Vancouver instead of Seattle. Disney Cruise Line only provides
transportation from the Vancouver airport, so if you decide to fly to Seattle, you will need to find your own way to the port. The options you want to look into are the train, renting a car and bus services like Greyhound or Quick Shuttle. It takes just under three hours to drive from Seattle to Vancouver, but you'll want to add in time to pass through the border. From what I researched, the Amtrak Cascades train is a nice option because you'll travel up the Pacific Coast, and the scenery is quite beautiful. It takes around four hours, and the station is not a far taxi ride from the pier. If you decide to go this route, the left side of the train has the best views for the way up and right side for the way back. When I was researching, there were two trains daily.
Good luck with your planning, Kathleen. Please let us know if you have any further questions about your Alaskan adventure on the
Disney Wonder!
Have a magical day!
Nancy
