Hey there, hi there, ho there, Andrea!
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney again. I'm so glad you're here! There really is no better time visit The Most Magical Place on Earth than now. There's so much to look forward to this yEAR, including the 50th Anniversary Celebration festivities and exciting new additions set to arrive soon. I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind this summer!
Of course with so much pixie dust flying through the air, you'll want to capture snapshots of your magical vacation memories. That's where
Disney PhotoPass comes in. Disney PhotoPass photographers are located all throughout Walt Disney World Resort, standing by with their cameras, ready to take professional photos of Guests. Their skills are top-notch, and the photos they take are frame-worthy. Sometimes, they'll take Magic Shots, which are photos with a little extra Disney magic added into the finished picture (think Disney characters and fun effects). Disney PhotoPass also captures photos and videos on select rides and attractions. You can link your Disney PhotoPass photos to your My Disney Experience account using your MagicBand or PhotoPass card. You can then view your photos in the PhotoPass Gallery in your
My Disney Experience App or from a browser when logged into your account.
Memory Maker includes unlimited downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos and videos. You can purchase it for one day only or for the length of your vacation. With the Memory Maker - Advance Purchase, it does say you must wait at least three days after your purchase to activate it. What this means is you would need to purchase the Memory Maker - Advance Purchase product at least three days before you expect to start using it. In other words, you cannot purchase that specific product the day before your vacation and be able to use it right away. If you are within three days of your vacation, you would need to purchase the more expensive version of Memory Maker.
You pose an excellent question on whether Memory Maker is worth it or not, Andrea. When I look around my living room, I see moments of pure, uninhibited joy from my family's trips back "home." When I scroll through the camera roll on my phone, there are countless snapshots of just my husband and I from all around Walt Disney World, cherished memories that I hold dear. My honeymoon, my sister's proposal, my husband's graduation pictures, my father's retirement pictures, the look on my nieces' faces the first time they met Mickey Mouse... these priceless moments are the tangible magic of Walt Disney World Resort. I would not have any of the pictures that captured the magic if it weren't for Disney PhotoPass and Memory Maker. Thus, I can say with complete confidence that Memory Maker is worth it, even for two adults. You will definitely want snapshots of your own magical moments to look back on!
Take advantage of as many Disney PhotoPass opportunities on your vacation as possible. I think this will help you feel like Memory Maker was "worth it" for you. When you return home from your trip, be sure to
order a Disney PhotoPass Archive USB flash drive that will have all the photos from your trip loaded onto it. It's super affordable and acts as a backup of your pictures.
I hope this helps, Andrea, and I hope you decide to invest in Memory Maker. Your magical memories are more than worth it.
Wishing you all the pixie dust,
Alyssa
