Hiya, Laura!
I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney where it's never too early to begin planning your next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Late April into early May is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The days are longer, the sun is brighter, the temperatures are warmer (but not too high), and the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing. When you're not enjoying the gardens, topiaries, and tasty treats of the Flower & Garden Festival, I think you'll find it's the
practically perfect time of year to head to a Walt Disney World Resort water park.
As you mentioned, Laura, Walt Disney World's water parks have opened on a rotating basis in recent years, so if past trends hold true (
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park opening during the Summer months and
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park opening during the Winter), I would think that you should plan on enjoying Castaway Creek, the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, Crush 'n' Gusher, and Miss Adventure Falls at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon during your vacation. Of course, please keep in mind that this information is not a guarantee but rather my best guess based solely on previously observed dates (helpfully compiled by my pal Jason
here). For official information regarding water park opening dates, be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as your vacation approaches. The most up-to-date information on all things Disney destinations always drops there first!
With all of this talk about Walt Disney World Resort's water parks, I also want to remind you to make time for the swimming pools of your
Disney Resort hotel. I recently enjoyed a stay at Disney's BoardWalk Inn with some dear friends, and we loved wrapping up (and cooling down) each day with a dip and slide in the incredible pool. It was such a wonderful reminder that magical memories can be made throughout Walt Disney World Resort - not just in theme parks or water parks.
I hope this information was helpful, Laura, and that you'll
return to planDisney with any additional questions that arise as you continue to plan. Don't forget that the
planDisney podcast is always there for you as well!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
