Hi, I was wondering when the Halloween event schedule for Fort Wilderness campground will be released. We’re excited to be staying during the holiday and want to plan ahead with costumes and decorations, if applicable. Thanks, Melissa

Hi Melissa, and welcome to planDisney! I’m excited that you’re going to be at the spookiest place on earth very soon. Staying at Fort Wilderness during Halloween is one of my Disney bucket list items, and I’m already thinking about what legendary golf cart costume my family will come up with!

So let’s chat about all the fun activities that will be going on during your stay. The Halloween schedule is usually posted at Fort Wilderness closer to the end of the month, so ask a Cast Member when you check in. If you’re hoping to preview the activities before you arrive, I’ve found that fellow guests sometimes share a photo of the schedule in unofficial Fort Wilderness Facebook groups after it goes up at the campground.

In the meantime, let’s take a look at last year’s activity lineup to get an idea of what might be offered this year. On October 29, 2024 there was a pet costume parade and a glow party at the pool. The day before Halloween, there was the famous golf cart extravaganza parade, a pumpkin decorating contest (note that you needed to bring your own pumpkin since they weren’t sold at the campground last year), and a Halloween beach bash. And on actual Halloween Day, there were official camp-o-treat hours and a viewing of Hocus Pocus.

When you’re at Fort Wilderness, don’t miss stopping by Tri-Circle-D Ranch in the Settlement area. That’s where the headless horseman’s horse lives from Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade! Little ones can even ride one of the ponies, or if the whole family wants to get in on the fun, you can book a carriage ride, which is a great way to tour the campground and see all of the campsites decorated for the holiday.

I hope you have the best Halloween ever at Fort Wilderness! And if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
