Hi! I was wondering if guests 18 and up were allowed to drink in international waters/Bahamas/Caribbean?

    Hi Alana,

Welcome aboard planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question to us.

The drinking age aboard Disney Cruise Line ships and Disney Castaway Cay is 21, with a valid photo I.D. There are some exceptions to this, depending on where the cruise originates and/or ends, and subject to parental/guardian consent.

During round-trip cruises departing from any European country that has a lower legal drinking age and for repositioning cruises between Hawai'i and Australia, parents or guardians may sign a Beverage Consent Form that allows their 18- to 20-year-old children to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence. Parents and guardians may inquire about the consent form upon check-in. For round-trip cruises from Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Brisbane, Guests 18 years of age and older may purchase and consume alcoholic beverages without parental consent.

Alana, there are several things that Guests 18 years of age can participate in on each Disney Cruise Line ship that I would love to share with you! One is the Senses Spa, including the Rainforest room. This is an amazing area with aromatherapy steam rooms, saunas, and warm tiled chairs that are the epitome of pampering and relaxation.

Another special option for Guests 18 years of age and older is dining at the adult-exclusive restaurants, Palo (Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) or Palo Steakhouse (Disney Wish), Remy (Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream), and Enchanté (Disney Wish). Each of these stunning venues provides an exceptional dining experience, and I highly recommend brunch at Palo! And of course, each of these restaurants offers fabulous alcohol-free specialty cocktails for everyone to enjoy.

Be sure to note when your booking window opens for cruise activities since you will want to pre-book any of these options because they are very popular and space is limited.

I hope this information was helpful, Alana. If you have any other questions before you sail away, please write back to us and let us and let us know!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
