I was wondering for future reference: if I were to buy an Enchant Key for myself and my husband, would we qualify if we use my parents’ address? My parents live in Southern California, and we’re considering moving in with them, but we’re in sf. Thank you!

Happy day to you, Bingjoy, welcome to planDisney!

We’re thrilled you’re here and thanks for asking this question! As a Magic Key pass holder, I can say that having special perks and discounts is great! I’m happy to share more about the residency requirements for a Magic Key pass to the Disneyland Resort. Check out the Magic Key Buying Guide for more information!

The Enchant Key is open to all guests so proof of residence is not required, and if you’re a California resident you qualify for monthly payments. However, you may be thinking of the Imagine Key, which is only for Southern California residents. To purchase the Imagine Key, guests must have their Southern California address in their Disney account. However, upon the first entry scan to either Park at the Disneyland Resort, guests must also provide a valid government-issued photo ID reflecting residency within the required zip codes. If your current ID does not list a Southern California address within those zip codes, then you are not eligible for entry into the Parks.

Magic Key passes are not currently for sale but I highly recommend that if you do choose to relocate, update your ID with the Southern California address to use for your pass. Should you purchase a pass, know that it will not activate until your first entry, so depending on when passes are released for sale again, and if you make your decision to move, you may have time to complete that. Reminder, it must be the official ID though, a temporary ID or utility bill will not suffice.

There’s always magic happening at the Disneyland Resort and so much more to come, so I recommend keeping an eye on Disney Parks Blog as they’ll typically share upcoming events for 2025 at the end of the year. Additionally, if you want to purchase a Magic Key pass, follow Disneyland Magic Key on Instagram to stay up to date with official sales announcements. You’ve gotta be faster than Lightning McQueen racing Doc Hudson as the lower tier passes (Imagine and Enchant) tend to be the first to sell out!

Well, Bingjoy, I sure hope this has helped as you consider moving and securing a year's worth of magic once Magic Key passes are available! Wishing you the best and if you have any other questions, feel free to send them our way!

    Magic awaits!
