Wondering about how to feed my 10 month old at WDW? He doesn't eat jar baby food because he eats whatever we eat, just pureed. Should I bring a food mill with us at the restaurants? What are my options?

    Hi Michelle,

Given your situation, this may be the trip where it makes sense to stay in a villa or family suite with kitchen facilities. This way you can prepare some of your baby's food in the room.

At restaurants, you're going to have to improvise a bit. Look at the menu for pureed foods to serve your baby. Many of the WDW counter service venues have applesauce as an optional side dish. Yogurt is readily available at table service breakfasts and at the resort food courts. Oatmeal or grits are also breakfast options; thin them out with a bit of milk or water if you need to. Soups may work for your baby. Or scan the menu for regular items that are already pureed. For example, Chef Mickey's serves delicious Parmesan mashed potatoes and the Artist Point chicken comes with a root vegetable mash. Again, thin these out with a bit of milk or water if necessary.

At table service restaurants, you can also ask if the chef can puree something in the restaurant for you. Most venues are more than happy to do this.

You certainly could bring a food mill with you into restaurants, but my guess is that this would get very messy very quickly. I'd try the options above, or possibly just bite the bullet and bring some commercially prepared baby food with you. There are many organic and healthy baby food options that might make sense while traveling.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
