Hello! I was wondering if Disney has any rules against renewing wedding vows. I was planning on renewing my vows to my Wife and just wanted to know if there were any restrictions...and of course, any recommendations would also be greatly appreciated! Thank

Hello there Eduardo, and welcome to planDisney!

Congratulations on your upcoming plans to renew your vows in the most epic way possible for any Disney fan - through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, where vow renewals are treated in pretty much the same way as weddings with access to the same venues and experiences. I actually had one of my own and there really is nothing like being able to celebrate your love at the Most Magical Place on Earth! From one Disney Groom to another, here are some of my personal tips and insights to help you both plan out your vow renewal at Walt Disney World Resort:

    • It's important to note that currently, all weddings and vow renewals taking place at the Disney Resort Hotels and theme parks must be planned through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team and with events and venues being confirmed up to a year in advance, you'll want to get in touch with them directly sooner than later so that a Consultant can reach out to you about what you envision.
    • When it comes to your options, there are often a number of restrictions pertaining to the variety of venues you have access to depending on your guest count and the time of day you'd like to hold your vow renewal. (For example, wanting to renew your vows against the stunning backdrop of the Tree of Life means waiting until after closing hours late at night when day guests have cleared Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.)
    • As vow renewals tend to be smaller in guest count, an intimate celebration like ours is definitely possible as long as you're able to meet the event minimum expenditure that applies to the locations where you intend to declare your vows to each other and is covered by what you plan on adding to your celebrations from food and beverage to the entertainment, floral or decor elements you include through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team.
It's a great idea to gain some inspiration from real couples and their stories through Disney Weddings on social media, planning groups for DisBrides and DisGrooms alike and useful resources such as the Ever After Blog and Disney Wedding Podcast. Come back here to planDisney if you have any other specific questions about the planning process, but know that you'll be in expert hands with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons!

Here's to many more years of your Happily Ever After together!
