Can I ride share to Floridian then monorail or walk to Magic Kingdom??

Hi there Kay, and welcome to planDisney!

I hope you're getting excited for your Walt Disney World Resort trip coming up in just a few weeks, and as a Disney Vacation Club owner who calls the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa home, I absolutely love just how close we are to Magic Kingdom park with the handy accessibility via its walkway, monorail and even boat transportation for guests to take advantage of! While the proximity makes it very attractive for folks and families to try to drive here for quicker theme park access, there are a few things to keep in mind based on my recent experience and observations:

    • Disney's Parking and Security Cast Members have been observed to be more strict in restricting access beyond the security gate at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to those staying as a guest or with a dining reservation that they will confirm. Though they may turn away guests looking to park who are unable to present confirmation of either, this may also extend even to those just being dropped off and you may be redirected to the nearby Transportation and Ticket Center instead. (In my experience this past week, some Cast Members have only requested identification from ride share drivers dropping off their passengers but there is no guarantee whether you'll be permitted access and policies are subject to change without prior notice based on the instructions from their leadership.)
    • The quickest option that I would recommend to get you even closer is taking advantage of Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft which provides everything you enjoy about scheduling rides through an app, with the added bonus of being able to set your drop-off spot right at the Magic Kingdom park entrance. These vehicles are all driven by Cast Members, but it's important to note that they only operate within Walt Disney World Resort property at the current time.
I hope that this is helpful to you Kay, and that you end up encountering some friendly Cast Members as you make your way to Magic Kingdom park next month - be sure to come back to planDisney again soon for any other tips or tricks ahead of your upcoming Disney adventures!
