I was wondering if the dining shows (spirit of aloha or Hoop De Doo) are appropriate for my 2 year old son. If so which one would you recommend.

    Hi Melissa,

I think all of the dinner shows are appropriate for young guests at the Walt Disney World Resorts. Having seen both shows, I think your son might like the Hoop Dee Doo Revue better than the Spirit of Aloha.

The Hoop Dee Doo Revue is the longest running theater show in the United States. It features a touring troop of singers who entertain guests during a traditional southern meal of salad, fried chicken, ribs, bread and strawberry shortcake. The entertainers visit tables which is always a fun experience. It is also indoors and located at the Fort Wilderness Campsite which has a lovely playground nearby to play on while waiting for the show to start.

The Spirit of Aloha Luau tells the story of family. With traditional Hawaiian dancing including the hula and spinning fire batons, it makes for a great evening activity. The traditional Hawaiian fare of pork, chicken, rice and other delicious treats is served. They do offer an American meal for children. Located in an open air pavillion, it can get chilly and may be cancelled if the weather makes it unsafe for the cast members or guests.

I have included a link to provide you with more information on both shows. I would also book it at the beginning of your vacation when your son is well rested. You will also need to hold the reservation with a credit card and you can use the dining plan as well.

    Have a magical vacation!
