Greetings, Molly, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! You arrive for your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation this week, and it sounds like adventure is your middle name. Filming the fun for posterity sounds like a fabulous plan, so let's look at the rules regarding prohibited equipment.
I suggest reading the information on the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules page. Under "Prohibited Items," you'll see details regarding selfie sticks and tripods. It sounds like your device has a tripod or handle, so you should be fine as long as it fits into the allowable backpack size (24"x 15"x 18") and doesn't extend more than six inches.
Feel free to contact the
Non-Reservation Questions line to confirm. You can explain exactly what you'd like to bring, and they'll advise you best. I also recommend that you be prepared to return the device to your vehicle or resort hotel if needed. All safety decisions are at the security team's discretion, so their word is always final.
Policies can also vary at individual attractions, so my advice is to ask a Cast Member anytime you plan to film. They can tell you any rules to follow, or they might ask you to refrain from filming. Keeping all guests safe while allowing for the best experience is a top priority in the theme parks. I love that about Disney vacations! Safety is at the top of
The Five Keys that all Cast Members follow.
Personally, I enjoy letting the
Disney PhotoPass photographers do the heavy lifting. I added
Memory Maker to my Annual Pass, but you can add it to a single or multi-day visit. All photos taken by the photographers will be available for digital downloads, and most attraction photos are included. I love leaving my phone in my backpack so I can relish being in the moment. And the quality and whimsy of the PhotoPass images are top-notch.
Magic Shots are my favorite!
Molly, I hope your visit is as adventurous as your spirit! Please stop by
planDisney anytime. We're always ready for our close-up!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
