Hi! I was wondering if there was any difference between the 5:15 & 8pm show times for the Polynesian Luau. We will be coming in August as 4 adults so time really isn't an issue, which would you recommend? Thanks!

The show and food are identical for all performances of the Spirit of Aloha Luau at the Polynesian hotel. The only appreciable differences you will find are in the light level and the weather.

There are some elements of the show that involve fire dancing. I find that this is more interesting/entertaining when it's dark out. Also, the Luau theater is covered, but it is outdoors - meaning that the ambient temperature is the same as the outdoor temperature. For a trip in August, when daytime temperatures can be in the 90s, I prefer to dine in a cooler atmosphere.

For these reasons, for August, I'd opt for the later show. During the winter months, the earlier shop might be better.

    Good luck with your planning.
