Hi there, Flor! Thanks for popping by planDisney with your question. I may be a little biased here, but I think a Disneyland ticket is an absolutely perfect gift! It’s a little tricky to wrap the magic itself (trust me, I’ve tried!), so a ticket is the next best thing!
You should have no problem using the ticket he gives you, but there may be a couple of exceptions. I want to make sure we’re all clear here, so let’s start with those and get them out of the way! If your cousin purchased a discounted
Southern California Resident Ticket, you’ll need to reside within the eligible SoCal ZIP codes (currently 90000–93599) and present a valid government-issued photo ID in order to use it. Or, if he purchased a multi-day ticket and has already redeemed one or more of the days on the ticket, it will not be transferable at that point. In other words, only wholly unused tickets can be transferred.
Now that we’ve covered that, Flor—and assuming that everything is good to go on that front—you should have no problem using his ticket! You’ll want to have him call the
Disneyland tickets hotline to change the name on the ticket to yours. A friendly Cast Member will be happy to assist, and it should only take a few minutes. Once that’s complete, you can link the ticket to your Disney account in a few short steps. Just open the
Disneyland mobile app, tap the menu button (three-lined icon at the bottom right), then select “My Tickets & Passes”. Next, you’ll tap the blue plus (+) sign in the top right corner and select “Link Tickets & Passes”. You can either scan the ticket’s barcode with your device’s camera, or if you don’t have access to it, you can also enter the ticket ID by tapping the “Type ID” button. Super easy, right?! Now you’ll be able to use the ticket to enter the park—just don’t forget to make a
park reservation first!
Your Disneyland adventure begins in just a month—can you feel the magic in the air?! I hope you’re planning on packing your appetite! Did you know that the
California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be in full swing during your visit? It kicks off on February 28, 2025 and runs through April 21, 2025. If you enjoy great food and lively entertainment, you won’t want to miss it! My personal favorite is
Cookin' with the Jammin’ Chefs. (I don’t want to spoil any surprises, Flor, but let’s just say that some beloved Disney pals might stop by for a visit!).
Whether you’re planning to visit
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park—or perhaps both with a
Park Hopper ticket—you’re in for an enchanting treat. See you in the parks!
