Oh, boy! I'm glad you stopped by planDisney, Zoe! I hope your family has their Mickey ears packed for your
Walt Disney World Resort visit next month. I always keep a Disney bag at the ready filled with sunscreen, rain ponchos, and my MagicBands! You have a lovely and generous child, so let's talk about character meetings in the theme parks.
I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who knows Mickey Mouse personally, and she said that small trinkets, such as friendship bracelets, can be given to a Cast Member accompanying the character. So, although the actual character or princess can't accept the gift personally, your child could show them for the interaction, and the character's handler would take it for safekeeping.
Please remember that accepting the gift is at the discretion of the Cast Member. But I feel confident if your child shows the character what they've made, they will be very pleased regardless.
Another way you can show appreciation for specific Cast Members is by using the Cast Compliment feature in your
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Tap the three lines at the bottom right of your screen, scroll to the bottom, and choose Cast Compliment. If you can note the Cast Member's name and hometown, it will ensure it gets to the correct person. I know these compliments are greatly treasured.
One of my favorite character interactions is at
Garden Grill Restaurant at
EPCOT. Characters are subject to change, but several of your favorites will come to your table dressed in their farming best, and Mickey himself once sat at our table and tied a napkin 'round his neck. I almost had to share my dessert with him!
Zoe, I'm waving my magic wand so your family will make many magical memories on your upcoming Disney visit. Please
stop by planDisney anytime, and tell your child I'm so proud of their giving spirit!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
