    I was wondering about the 5k on castaway cay. Is there medals for all finishers? And- do you go run and then come back on the boat and gather your family up before going back out.

    As a runner myself, I enjoy participating in the Castaway Cay 5K on the island! My experience has been that the runners meet onboard in one of the lounges to sign-up and pick up an official "RunDisney" bib (which makes for a great souvenir)!  After everyone has arrived, you can disembark the ship with the group or with your family and meet the group at the starting line by the Bike Rental location on the island.  My husband and I both ran so we left the ship with our children and dropped them at Scuttles Cove (the kids' club on the island) on our way to the starting line.  After the run, we picked up our kids and changed into our beach attire in the bathrooms.  We did not go back to the ship, but it is only about a 15 minute walk or tram ride away so you could go back to change and meet up with your family.  I have received a Mickey Mouse Finisher Medal in the past, but I do know these are subject to availability.  You will receive a "Magical Moments" Certificate for completing the race later on in your stateroom which also makes for a nice keepsake.  Castaway Cay 5K t-shirts are available for purchase at the shop right by the starting line, Buy the Seashore.  I purchased mine while we waited to start and had the castmember at the store hold it in the back while I ran. 
    I'm not sure which ship or sailing you are on, but I was just on the Fantasy last week and the race sign-up was at 9:00am in the Tube with a 9:30am departure for the starting line. This should give you an idea of what time you can expect to run.
