Hi Heather! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with this question. There’s something truly timeless about adding your own personal touch to a piece of Disney merchandise. My family still treasures the first Mickey ear hats we picked out for my daughters before they were born, and their names embroidered on the back still bring a smile every time we see them on our wall.
When it comes to personalizing Minnie ear headbands, options can vary depending on the material and current offerings in the parks. Many traditional fabric ear headbands can sometimes be embroidered at select locations, but styles that are made of leather or specialty materials are a bit different. I would recommend treating leather or specialty Minnie headbands as not guaranteed for machine embroidery since the stitching can be tricky on that surface. However, they may still be eligible for ink or paint personalization instead. For example,
Plaza Point (on Main Street in Disneyland) has offered hand-painted name and date personalization on certain ear designs in the past.
Because offerings can change throughout the year, I always recommend bringing your ears and your receipt with you and checking with a Cast Member at either the
Emporium or Plaza Point when you arrive. They can share the most up-to-date personalization options available during your visit, and help you find the best fit for your specific pair.
That said, if personalizing your souvenir is the goal, there are some other wonderful customization experiences you might enjoy during your visit. At Plaza Point on Main Street, talented Cast Members can hand-personalize ornaments and other keepsake items year-round (not just during the holidays!).
Crystal Arts offers elegant etched glass pieces that can be customized, which make beautiful display pieces. And one of my favorite classic touches is the
Silhouette Studio on Main Street, where skilled artists create hand-cut silhouette portraits, usually in under 90 seconds. Our daughters’ silhouettes are framed in our home, and they always bring back warm Disneyland memories.
Before your trip, I recommend downloading the
Disneyland app if you haven’t already. It’s the best way to check shop locations, hours, and offerings during your visit (and of course, to place those all-important mobile food orders for treats along the way).
Heather, I hope this helps you plan just the right keepsake for your upcoming visit. And if you’d like suggestions for can’t-miss snacks or cozy stroll spots inside the parks, we’d love to welcome you back at planDisney anytime.
Wishing you a pixie-dusted visit filled with magical moments,
David
