Hello Janeen!
Welcome to planDisney! I love a good boat ride, and we consider it another attraction. A leisurely trip down the Sassagoula River to
Disney Springs is one of the perks of staying at
Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Unfortunately, this
route has not been reopened. Mickey is a good secret keeper and at this point, there has been no announcement as to when this route will be operational. I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as this is where all of the official reopening announcements are made, and it seems new things are announced almost every week. There is currently bus service between the resort and Disney Springs, and if you are up for a bit of a longer stroll, there is a walking path as well.
If you’ll be staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, I highly recommend dining at
Olivia’s Cafe. This is a must-do for my family when we stay at this resort. Try the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken, it is amazing! And be sure to leave room for their Key Lime Pie. I usually take a piece to-go so I can enjoy it later in my villa. (I’m too full from the delicious chicken!) While I have not yet experienced it, I also have heard very good things about their weekend brunch. It’s on my to-do list for our next visit to this resort!
I hope this info is helpful as you plan your visit, Janeen. Hopefully, the boat service will return before your visit. Please let me know what additional questions I can help you with as you plan your vacation!
Have a Magical Day!
