Welcome back to planDisney, Terri!
Can you believe that you are less than one week away from setting sail aboard Disney Cruise Line? The countdown is almost complete! Speaking of countdowns - have you seen the delightful little countdown measuring the remaining days, hours, minutes, and seconds left until your cruise in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app? I find myself constantly opening the app as my vacation approaches to see which characters will greet me this time. An appearance by Chip or Dale is sure to earn a squeal of delight and a screenshot. To me, it's these little touches that make vacationing with Disney so magical, and I'm happy to share that you'll discover this same devotion to details aboard the
Disney Fantasy. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled as you explore!
As a Dog Mom of three, Terri, I understand how important it is to be accessible during an adventure at sea. I recently set sail aboard the Wish, and it was such a relief that we were able to check in with our house sitter during an atypical snowstorm in Georgia. Since you'll have the option of purchasing either an
internet package or Cellular at Sea during your voyage, this budget-minded Mouseketeer suggests reaching out to your cellular provider to see what their rates would be during your cruise. Then, you could compare it to the
price of purchasing the Internet Package once aboard the ship to see which is the most cost-effective for you. Depending on your cellular plan, your phone may have service when the ship is in port, so I suggest also looking into potential coverage at your destinations when you reach out to your carrier about Cellular at Sea.
It's also worth noting that free onboard
Wi-Fi is available for Guests to use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, chat with others aboard the ship, and communicate through WhatsApp and iMessage, but since our house sitter is not an iPhone user, my family opted to purchase the Internet Package to stay in touch. If you choose to go the Wi-Fi route, don't forget to set your phone to Airplane Mode to avoid additional charges!
You're
almost there, Terri, so be sure to pack a bag of embarkation day essentials (such as identification, medication, a spare phone charger, and a swimsuit) separately from your luggage so that you can access them before your luggage arrives at your stateroom.
I hope this information helps you decide what will work best for your family. If you're in need of any additional information, you're welcome to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
