Hello, Landi! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I had the absolute fortune of experiencing
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run during the
Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholders' preview a couple of weeks ago, and I was lucky enough to try out all of the possible crew positions (left and right pilot, left and right gunner and left and right engineer). Of each of the positions, I definitely loved being the left pilot the best! After I realized how much I wanted that position, I asked the Cast Member at the front of the queue if it was possible to request it. Luckily, it wasn’t terribly busy at the time, and they allowed me to stand to the side and wait for the next opportunity. That request added about five minutes to my wait time.
I can tell you that although there is a Single Rider queue available for this attraction, those people will almost always be chosen for the gunner or engineer positions (since the crew is filled from the standby queue first). So if your son has his heart set on being a pilot, don’t try to make that request from the Single Rider line. Also be aware that while the Cast Member working the standby queue will do his or her best to accommodate your request, such requests cannot be guaranteed.
You will love your visit to Batuu!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of my favorite Theme Park experiences of all time. Take the time to enjoy the land, have a cup of the frosty
blue milk (I like it mixed with the green), and take lots and lots of pictures.
May the Force be with you, Landi!
