Hi Robert!
Welcome to planDisney! Soon, you'll be headed to the Most Magical Place on Earth and ready to take part in the year-long
50th Anniversary Celebration! All four theme parks are taking part, transforming their respective icons into
Beacons of Magic, beckoning Guests to come and join the fun! The
Disney Resorts Collection hotels offer guests unique sweets and treats, their own way of getting in on the celebration festivities!
Congratulations on booking one of the iconic dining experiences at Walt Disney World, dinner at
California Grill. Views of Magic Kingdom are breathtaking, and there's something incredibly special when the music from
Disney Enchantment begins to play. You can enjoy a birdseye view of the fireworks spectacular either from your table or from the rooftop platform, exclusive to guests of the restaurant. Having recently dined there with my besties, I'm happy to give some recommendations based on their
50th Anniversary Celebration menu. As for appetizers, we truly enjoyed the Braised Beef Short Rib Wontons. They were very soft and delicious, and the sauce that accompanied them was mild yet flavorful. If you have someone who loves sushi, as I do, the California Grill Sushi Classics trio combines the best of California Grill sushi offerings into one fantastic appetizer. My personal recommendation for an entree selection is the Oak Fired Filet of Beef. It was cooked to perfection, and the potatoes and accompanying sauces were just incredible. The Cast Iron Grilled Pork Tenderloin was fabulous! Tender, and juicy, it was complemented by the polenta and figs, which really added to the flavor profile they accomplished here. We raved about it!
Dessert is always a tough spot for me, as I end up being full that we usually skip it. Don't skip the dessert here! The EARidescent Grand Marnier Souffle was delicious (though not listed in the online menu, it was offered during our dining experience), but the Valrhona chocolate torte really took the 'cake' for us. It was smooth, creamy and a chocolate lover's dream! Unfortunately, as the menu is prix fixe, no substitutions are allowed. We attempted, as I am not able to consume some foods, to have a side exchanged for another, and we were unable to do so. You may speak with your server to see if that may be a possibility when you arrive, or if you can pay the adult price, but allow him to select from the kids' menu.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
