Hi Kelley!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
You can request a Key to the World card at the front desk of your
Disney World resort, at
Guest Relations at the theme parks and water parks, or at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs.
While you won’t be able to request a card until you’re already on your vacation, you have a couple of other options that allow you to get everything set up prior to your trip if you’d like to have everything ready ahead of time.
First up, you can order a
MagicBand+. If you’re a
Disney World resort guest, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a MagicBand+ at a discounted rate. Just go to
Disney World’s website, hover over My Disney Experience, then click My MagicBands and Cards. From there, you’ll see who’s eligible for a discounted MagicBand+, and you can click the Get Started button to go through your options.
Not only have I found my MagicBand+ to be super convenient during our time at Disney World, but I also love that I can use it on multiple trips. I’ve been using the same one for years now! So, if you think more Disney World trips are in your future, it could be something to consider.
Next up, you can set up
MagicMobile on your
My Disney Experience app. This works the same way a physical Key to the World card or MagicBand+ does, but it’s all on your phone. Click the 3 lines in the bottom right corner of the app, then scroll down to click Set Up MagicMobile Entry.
Now that we’ve gone over all of your options, it’s good to note that no matter which option you choose, you’ll still need to scan your finger when you enter the park each time. To make sure it all goes smoothly, scan the same finger each time. And if you have a kiddo in your family, I highly recommend having an adult scan their finger after your little one scans in with their card or band.
Even my 8-year-old’s finger doesn’t always scan properly, which takes extra time at the entry gate! So, after he scans his band (the fun part in his eyes!), my husband or I scan our finger. Just make sure the same adult scans the same finger each time.
I hope that helps and that your days at the park start off on the right foot! Enjoy every second of your trip! And let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan.
