Hi, this is a wonderful planning forum! Planning to come to WDW in Feb, 2011 with 3.5yoB and 8yoG. I am interested in Coronado Springs my hus is keen on AKL. Is either one better for distance to parks, on site fitness or overall little people friendly?

    Hi Christine!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with your husband on this one - Animal Kingdom Lodge is great for adults and kids!!

While my kids did like the pool and slide area of Coronado Springs, the Animal Kingdom Lodge is a family favorite for many, many reasons - including the zero-entry pool!

Both resorts are pretty equal in terms of fitness options, but I personally think that the lodge wins on all other aspects. Due to the layout of Coronado Springs, when you are using bust transportation to the parks you'll often have multiple stops within the resort. At Animal Kingdom Lodge, most of the time you'll have just one other stop at Kidani Village before heading out to the parks. So, in this respect I'll give the advantage to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

BUT - the huge draw at the lodge (and the reason its a favorite of ours) is the kids' activities - from watching the giraffe, zebra and wildebeest on the savannas, to African storytelling by the outdoor firepit, to musical parades! There is so much to see and do there, that its easy to become truly immersed in your resort stay.

Adults are not forgotten either - the free culinary tour of both Boma and Jiko is a great way to check out these two outstanding restaurants!

I hope this helps you decide on where to stay during your upcoming vacation!
