I am going on the Wonder October 26-31 with my son, daughter and their families including my 8 grandkids ages 14 - 8 months. How safe are the verandas for active little ones. While I don't intend to allow them out on their own I know it may happen.

Welcome aboard, Susan! Your cruise this fall on the Disney Wonder is going to be such a memorable one for your family. My family loves sailing with Disney but our Disney cruises that included the kids' grandparents have made our cruises all the more magical! You're in for a wonderful vacation!

We've sailed numerous times in the Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms with a Verandah. Even when our kiddos were little, I've felt very comfortable with them joining us on the verandah. The verandah walls are high enough that I don't fear them accidentally falling over. Of course, I would not encourage anyone to allow their kids on the verandah alone, nor to climb on the furniture. But, simply sitting on the chairs, enjoying a mellow breakfast or late afternoon snack, or just looking over the railing as we pull into Castaway Cay has been wonderful! There are child locks on the verandah doors, so definitely put those to use when you're in the stateroom and don't want anyone wandering unaccompanied onto the verandah. In fact, the verandah sliding doors are pretty heavy, and even I have to pull hard to open them. As with anywhere else on the ship, keep an eye on your little ones and everyone will have a wonderful, safe trip.

Stop back with any other questions you might have before you set sail, Susan! I'm happy to help!
