I woluld like to eat healthier while at Disney. Under the Quick Service Dining Plan can I order off the kid's menu or will I take meals away from my child's dining plan.

    Hi Heather!

I agree with you completely about trying to eat healthy while at Walt Disney World! When we visit, I always try to find ways to stay on track with my diet and exercise, while still enjoying my vacation!

The Disney Dining Policy states that guests ages 3-9 must order from a children's menu where available and those who are 10 and over, may not order from the children's menu.

However, once when I ate at Pecos Bills in Magic Kingdom, I ordered an adult meal and my son ordered a child's meal, but we switched because we wanted each others meals after we saw the amount of food on the plate. The adult meal came with a double cheeseburger and fries, while the children's meal came with a single burger and grapes. My son had a hefty appetite, but I couldn't eat that entire meal. This was inadvertent, but it worked out well for both of us.

Other options for eating healthy at the parks are splitting an adult meal at a quick service location with another adult or child. You can't do this at a Table Service location, but you can order just one meal at a Quick Service location if you would like.

Another healthy eating tip is to ask for fruit instead of your dessert or french fries. Even though this is only listed as an option on the children's menu, I've found WDW to be qutie accommodating in giving me grapes or apple slices instead of the carrot cake and french fries that come with most meals.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
    Magically,
    Stacy
