We wlll be staying at the GF 9/2011 in a Garden View room in the Outer Building. Is this building connected to the hotels main building and if not how do we get back and forth between the two buildings? Is there a covered walkway of some sort? Thanks!

Hi Desiree! You're going to love the luxurious Grand Floridian! The resort has a prime location next to the Magic Kingdom, and the rooms are so large and comfortable. The main building at the Grand Floridian houses the monorail station, the lobby, a few restaurants, and some club-level rooms and suites. The remaining resort rooms are in several other buildings, which aren't physically connected to the main building. To get to the outer buildings you walk along sidewalks through the beautiful resort grounds. The resort is fairly compact, especially compared to some other Disney resorts, so the walks are short and scenic. The walkways aren't covered, which can be irritating if it's raining or cold, but thankfully Florida is known for warm and sunny weather most of the time. If being close to the main building is important to you, note that request on your reservation. On our last visit to the Grand Floridian my family stayed in the Big Pine Key building which is located next to the main building and the pool. Because you can enter on on the end of Big Pine Key, the outside walk between it and the main building is quite short.

Hope you have a wonderful vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
