Hello, Katie! Welcome to planDisney. Thank you for visiting us with your important question.
Disney Cruise Line recently announced an age policy change for
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Disney's Oceaneer Lab. For all sailings beginning on or after December 21, 2023, these two youth spaces will only be available to children ages 3-10 years of age during secured programming times.
Disney's Oceaneer Club on the
Disney Wish hosts a handful of
Open Houses and this will be the opportunity your children will have to play together in the Oceaneer Club. Unfortunately, during regular programming, your 12-year-old will not be allowed in this space. I understand that this is likely not the news you were hoping to hear. As a mom to children of similar ages, I'm also coming to terms with this change and what it will mean for my children onboard.
Your 12-year-old will be invited to join in the fun at
Edge, the space for kids ages 11-14. Edge also hosts Open Houses when both of your children will be encouraged to hang out and take part in the activities held there. As a side note for your future reference, ten-year-old children are welcome to take part in Edge programming with parental consent.
Katie, I know that there will be many moments for your children to make magical memories onboard the Disney Wish. The ship will be gleaming with holiday decor and the Daily Activity Schedule will be bursting with merriment. I encourage you to look over the schedule in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. If you select the heart icon next to any listing that you don't want to miss (and you enable notifications), the app will send a reminder about fifteen minutes before the fun begins.
Happy Holidays and Happy Cruising!
