Does the wildlife train to Rafiki's Planet Watch provide an animal encounter experience or is it just transportation to the station? Is it worth riding if you don't have time to explore the area?

Hi, Cindy!  The train ride passes by a good bit of the flora and fauna you will see in parts of Disney's Animal Kingdom, but you do not experience any type of animal encounter on the train.  There is a brief moment when you can see the back of one of the savanna areas, where you might get a peek at an animal, and you will see some of the buildings that serve as nightly quarters for the animals.

There are some interesting things once you arrive, including the possibility of seeing some of the animals undergoing veterinary care, brushing a goat, watch the animals' meals being prepared, and learning about conservation.  You might also participate in a character meet and greet.

If you go early in the day, there seems to be a bit more activity going on in terms of the vet care.  If you can eek out any bit of time, that might be the best time to do so.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
