I am going on the wild Africa trek at animal kingdom and my reservation is at 8:45, early entry starts at 8:30. Will they let me in a little earlier than that so I can make sure that I get back to check in on time, and I don’t miss the tour.

Jambo, Tracey, and welcome back to planDisney! You will have a WILD time on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit. Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is one of my family's favorite destinations, and my son and I share a core memory of being together on opening day. I'm so excited you're booked for the Wild Africa Trek! You are lucky to snag a reservation since that is a very popular Enchanting Extra. Congratulations! Now let's make sure you're on time for the tour.

Tracey, I've scheduled breakfast reservations and the Keys to the Kingdom Tour before park opening, and I've never had a problem getting in a little early. I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who suggested you head to the theme park and look for Guest Relations to the left of the park entrance. He said to try to be there around 8:00-8:15 AM and have your tour confirmation number pulled up on your phone. They'll direct you to an early-access entrance and might even escort you to the check-in kiosk near Kilimanjaro Safaris. Tour guides know that tours often start near opening time, so I'm sure they make allowances and try not to leave anyone behind.

Although you'll have some yummy dishes to sample as part of your tour, you might work up an appetite worthy of the king of the jungle. I recommend you grab a bite at my favorite hidden gem, Nomad Lounge. Unfortunately, you won't be able to make advance reservations there, so please stop by as soon as your tour ends to check availability. My favorite meal there is the Impossible Sliders with Yucca Fries. A bonus tip is to ask to sit outside near the railing because you might spy some fun character flotillas sailing by.

Tracey, I know your African adventure will be something you'll remember forever. Please stop by planDisney if you have any other questions or want to share the "gnus" about your tour!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
