Welcome aboard, Hollie!
Disney Cruise Line offers
Wi-Fi service packages on the ship, which can be purchased onboard. You can view these different package options once you're onboard by logging into the DCL-GUEST Wi-Fi network to view your options. Now, if you only want to connect to the Wi-Fi network only to use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, you can do that for free! That app is wonderful because you'll be able to view the schedules of events and activities for your sailing to see where and when all the fun things will be going on and even use Disney emojis to text your family and friends onboard using the handy text feature.
The last time I sailed, I noticed a great Wi-Fi promotion. This was listed on the back on my Personal Navigator (the paper version that you'll receive onboard). They were offering a free 50 MB
Internet package to enjoy throughout the cruise, but it was only available to sign up for from noon to midnight on that first day. There were directions as to how to sign up with my mobile device, so I was sure to do that. It allowed me to use my cell phone to log into the Wi-Fi to post a few updates and photos on Facebook to share with my friends while I was at sea.
You will need to contact your phone's service provider to see if additional charges apply. I keep my phone on airplane mode except when I briefly log into the Wi-Fi to use my free 50 MB of data to access Facebook. That was plenty of data for a few quick posts and it cost me nothing. Plus, I like disconnecting from the regular world when we are at sea, it's so relaxing!
Have fun as you plan your exciting trip!
