Welcome aboard planDisney, Estrella!
Thank you for sailing by with your question. I am so excited to hear that you have a high seas adventure on the horizon!
During your cruise, if sending a message in a bottle just won't cut it, Disney Cruise Line does offer
internet access on your devices through Connect@Sea. Packages range in sizes from 100MB to 1,000 MB, as well as an option to pay as you go. If you are lucky enough to be sailing in a
concierge stateroom, your party will receive 100 MB of complimentary Wi-Fi internet service. Guests can also purchase access priced between $19.00 and $89.00 depending on the size of the package. Prices are subject to change, so you will want to check with the Connect@Sea desk onboard or at check-in for the pricing for your itinerary.
If you decide to purchase a package, be sure to visit the Connect@Sea desk on your ship and pick up a Connect@Sea FAQ sheet. I have found this information to be so helpful to maximize the internet package by setting your device to not allow apps to run in the background or download unnecessary notifications. Otherwise you will find your internet package disappear quickly! The representative at the Connect@Sea desk can also show you how to monitor your usage which is extremely helpful if connecting multiple devices.
You can also use your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App while onboard to communicate with those traveling with you. If you have an Apple device, you can use iMessage to communicate with others on the ship and those you left on shore without purchasing a package. Just place your phone in airplane mode and connect to the DCL-Guest Wi-Fi network.
Cruise back to planDisney if you have any other questions before you set sail with Captain Mickey, Estrella! We love to help you chart a course toward a practically perfect vacation.
"Sea" ya real soon! Angie
