My wife and I won a Disney World vacation from Wheel of Fortune. They booked the room and tickets separately so is there any way we can add on a dining plan to our reservation? We are planning a few character dining meals while we are there.

    Greetings fellow Utahan!

I went to university and medical school in Utah, so the Beehive state holds many happy (and tired!) memories. But, it was when I left Utah and moved to Charleston for my residency, that I, like you, was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune! So.Much.Fun! I won a trip to a spa in Palm Springs, and to date, it is one of my favorite vacations. I am so excited that you get to travel to Walt Disney World Resort as your prize!

My fellow panelist Eean happens to be an expert on all.the.things, including the Disney Dining Plan, and she helped me resEARch your question. Since the Disney Dining Plan is an add-on to Resort room reservations, only the party that booked your reservation can add the plan to your trip. So, to get the plan added, you need to contact Wheel of Fortune and see if they would be willing to include that in your prize package. Fingers crossed they do!

Ryan, did you know that you can make dining reservations 180 days before your arrival? I highly recommend doing so, especially with Character Meals. One of our favorite meals on property is the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno. You get to meet Rapunzel, Prince Eric, Ariel, and Flynn Rider, all while enjoying a meal worthy of an adult’s palate! I highly recommend Pascal’s Palette, and make sure to sample the breakfast pastries! Last winter I sampled the fantastic offerings at Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. The ‘Cottage’ Beef Stew and Miner’s Treasures are truly fit for royalty.

Enjoy your prize! Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, it’s off to dinner you go!
