My wife and I want to try RVing and going to Fort Wilderness in February to rent an RV(Class C) and see how we like it. Need help with the best loops to request for 2 adults and a small dog. 300? 200? Don't want near pool or too much activity.

Howdy David, and welcome to planDisney! Fort Wilderness is such a special place—an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks that’s just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. I’d be happy to chat about the best loops for you and your pup!

You can add a request to your reservation by calling the Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number. While requests aren’t guaranteed, Cast Members will try their best to grant your wish!

The loops you can request will depend on what type of campsite you booked. For the quietest loops, I’d recommend one of the Full Hook-Up Campsites. Loops 1700, 1900, and 1800 are furthest from the Meadows area (where you’ll find the pool and nightly Chip ’n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long) and the Settlement Area (where you’ll find the boat to Magic Kingdom and Pioneer Hall). Premium Campsite loops 1100 and 1200 are also away from the activity areas.

The downside is that these loops aren’t that close to the Waggin’ Trails Dog Park, if you plan on taking your pup there. But if you’re renting a golf cart, it’ll be easy to get there from any of the loops!

For a loop closer to the dog park, I’d recommend Premium Campsite loop 500 or Preferred Campsite 300. However, with those campsites, there’s a chance you could be placed in a loop close to the Settlement area, particularly with the Preferred Campsites. I would avoid booking a Premium Meadow Campsite since those loops are all close to the Meadows area.

When you’re choosing a campsite type, be sure to check the sizes to make sure it’ll accommodate your RV. For instance, the Preferred Campsites can fit equipment up to 10 feet by 45 feet, and the Premium Campsites can fit equipment up to 18 feet by 60 feet.

One last thing I wanted to mention. When you’re checking in at the Reception Outpost, ask a Cast Member if they’re doing the furry friends magnets. In the past, sometimes they’ve made Fort Wilderness photo frame magnets with the pictures of guests’ dogs, which makes a great keepsake to put on your RV’s fridge!

I hope you have a magical stay at Fort Wilderness. And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney!
