Welcome aboard, Lee! It's almost time for your family to set sail to the Eastern Caribbean with Disney Cruise Line! Besides the beautiful ports of call that you'll visit, there's even more fun to be had all day and night long on the ship. With activities for everyone in the family, you're in for a magical vacation!
You can't go wrong with any of Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures, so it's really up to you to find one that sounds best to your family. I'll give you a few suggestions of great ones though! My daughter is eight years old too, so these are right up her alley, and hopefully your daughter will agree.
Check out the
Family Fun Beach and Nature Walk in St. Maarten. You'll visit the French side of the island at Orient Bay, one of the most gorgeous beaches in the Caribbean. Of course there is time to relax, but there are also other fun options like a guided walk through a nature reserve or boogie boarding. My daughter enjoyed the Seaworld Semi-Sub adventure and there's also the Butterfly Farm which is really popular!
Speaking of butterfly farms, there is also one in St. Thomas which guests absolutely love. If your daughter likes butterflies, this might be a great choice. There are a few adventures that take you there, but my favorite would be the Coral World and Butterfly Farm adventure because we got to get up close with some beautiful sea creatures! If your daughter is the adventurous type, check out Tree Limin' Extreme Zipline adventure. There's no better backdrop than this beautiful island for this fun adventure! You could always enjoy another beach day, but I promise that you won't find a better beach to enjoy than Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, so try something new in St. Thomas instead!
Have fun as you continue to plan, Lee!
