Welcome back to planDisney, Jay, and a heartfelt happy anniversary to you and your wife! I can't think of a more magical place to mark 55 years together than at
Walt Disney World Resort. Strolling hand-in-hand down Main Street, USA, and gazing into each other's eyes with Cinderella Castle watching over you...I wish I could be there to help you celebrate!
Jay, my husband and I recently stayed at
Disney's Old Key West Resort and enjoyed its pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. It's a large resort, so please be sure to use the internal shuttle system if you plan to take complimentary transportation to the theme parks. One of our favorite adventures was hopping aboard a
water taxi near the Hospitality House for a peaceful ride to
Disney Springs. It was almost like being on a time machine and going back to Old Florida!
If you'd like to make a specific building request for your stay, I recommend calling
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations so they can note your request on your reservation. Although there's no guarantee, I've found that they will do their best to accommodate you. When you arrive on property, I also suggest you stop by the front desk to make sure they're aware of your request. If you must wait a bit to get the building you want, hop aboard that water taxi and have some ice cream at
Salt & Straw in Disney Springs!
Your 55th anniversary is an occasion to remember, so my last tip is to purchase
Memory Maker for this visit. You'll get unlimited digital downloads of every photo taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers at all four theme parks. Whenever you see a photographer wearing a green shirt, you can stop to have some pictures snapped. Let them know it's your anniversary, and they might have some ideas for romantic shots. And if you purchase Memory Maker before your visit, you'll get a discount.
Jay, I hope your upcoming fall visit is full of love and pixie dust. Please
stop by planDisney if you have any other questions. My panelist pals and I have many tips and trips we'd love to share!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
