The wife and I will be staying at the Grand Californian on Oct 18 and 19 in celebration of my 70th birthday and was wondering if you could tell me what time they were to have the Flag Retreat on Oct. 18th? Thank you for your aid in dealing with this reque

    Greetings William,

Thank you for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope you are having a Dapper day!

My family loves staying at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, it's decorated in a luxurious, craftsman style, with easy access to the parks. I love staying at a Disney Resort Hotel; you never have to leave the Disney Magic, even after the parks close for the night.

I'm so glad to hEAR that you want to pay tribute at the evening patriotic display of the Flag Retreat Ceremony in Town Square. Typically the ceremony begins around 4:30 pm (before sunset), however the Cast Member I spoke with today, advised me of a 4:45pm time. I suggest you ask a Cast Member in the Town Square area or in City Hall once you arrive to be sure you have an exact time.

Also be sure to tell the Cast Member at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa that you are celebrating your 70th birthday! The Cast Member will give you a free "it's my birthday" button to wear on your special day; Cast Members that see you in the parks will be sure to send you warm wishes throughout the day.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please write me back on how I can help you plan your pixie dusted vacation.

Wishing y'all a Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical time!
