Hi Michael!
October is a wonderful time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The temperature and crowds have dropped since the summer season, but it is still warm enough to thoroughly enjoy the pools and water parks.
Two of the autumn’s most popular events at the Walt Disney World Resort will be going on during your visit. The
Epcot International Food and Wine Festival opens on September 25, 2015, so it will be in full swing by the following week. You can enjoy a stroll around the beautiful World Showcase Lagoon while tasting a variety of speciality dishes and drinks from around the world. From potstickers to pierogis, or curry to cheddar cheese soup there is something for everyone’s palate and tastes. Take a break from your stroll at the American Gardens Theatre and enjoy one of the Eat to the Beat concerts, or attend a culinary demo or specialty dinner.
For some spooky fun, dress as your favorite character and collect treats at
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This separately ticketed event is held at the Magic Kingdom during select nights. At Bay Lake Tower you are conveniently located within walking distance of the party! In the past, Disney Vacation Club Members have received a discount to the party. While dates or any possible discounts have yet to be released for 2015, watch in late spring or early summer for more information on this year’s events.
My favorite place to keep up on smaller events that may be happening during my vacations is by checking the Calendar of Events on the Allears.net website. Check back as October approaches to see what other events might be happening during your vacation! Wishing you happy planning!
