Hi Phil!
Spending a day at Walt Disney World sounds like a perfect day-cation! Late Spring is a wonderful time at Walt Disney World and I hope you'll be able to plan a fun day.
One of my favorite events during this time is the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. From now until June 1, EPCOT will be transformed into a beautiful wonderland with
amazing topiaries of beloved Disney characters, delectable
outdoor kitchens, and
special concerts and entertainment. I can spends days just in World Showcase absorbing the sights!
If you find you've spent all your energy in the theme parks during your visit, you can almost always find a last-minute resort available at Walt Disney World Resorts. Of course, if you're visiting at a peak time, the Fourth of July, you may find that there is very limited vacancy if any rooms are available. During more typical times, though, you should have at least a few options for resorts. Generally, the easiest way to check availability is via the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Simply enter the date, and browse available options. Since you are a Florida resident, you may be eligible for a Special Offer for
tickets or
resorts, so be sure to keep an eye on these deals while planning. To be eligible for these discounts, you will need to
provide proof of residency.
Disney Springs is a great place to check out the day after a resort stay if you do not have additional park tickets. I love to grab breakfast at
Earl of Sandwich and visit a few of my favorite shops before the drive home!
I hope you have a great day at Walt Disney World and don't hesitate to visit us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can help with any additional details!
