My wife & I and kids (9 yo girl 13 yo boy) are doing disney in Nov for 6 days. Was wondering, roughly, how much time to devote to each park. Can some parks be seen in a day where others might need an extra day or half day. Thanks, love this site!!!!!!!

    Hi Rick,

This is a good question and one that a lot of people consider when planning their vacation.  In our experience, if you hit the parks early then you can accomplish the major rides, attractions, and shows in Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios in one day each.  Epcot and Magic Kingdom are better visited in two days each.  This would perfectly fit the 6 days that your family has available to spend in Disney World.  However, this plan does not even begin to have you seeing everything in every park - something you might not be able to accomplish if you spent 16 days there.

To determine the best fit for your family, I'd research a bit first.  Pick up a planning book (we like Passporter) and have everyone look through it.  Give everyone their own color of highlighter so they can note items of interest to them, and use that to make a master list of 'must-see/do' attractions for your family.  It could be that your kids would really rather spend 2 days in the Studios and 1 day in Epcot.  Or you could do split visits a couple of days and re-visit parks and attractions they especially enjoyed.

The Passporter book will also give you good rough ideas for touring plans, and time estimates that will help you plan as well.  One thing you should definitely take into consideration is your dates of travel.  You don't mention when you are visiting Disney World; if it's Thanksgiving week the parks will be extremely crowded and you will not be able to do as much as quickly.  The rest of the month is off-season and you should be fine.

    Enjoy your trip!
