    So me and my now wife got engaged at mnsshp last year and we are planning another trip come this June and we were wondering if we needed to get new magic bands if we already have some from the year prior.

    Congrats on your engagement last year.  I hope you've had a year of magical memories with your one true love.  It's my pleasure to be able to help you out today.

    MagicBands do have a small battery inside of them but this battery should last a few years.  Your are more than welcome to continue to use the MagicBands you already have when you visit Walt Disney World Resort.  Remember if you have a reservation at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you will receive a complimentary MagicBand for each Guest on the reservation.   If you are staying off site you can purchase a MagicBand online at Shop Disney or buy one when you arrive.   Any information you have stored in your My Disney Experience account will transfer to your MagicBand once it is linked to your account.
