    Hello my wife and I are going to Disneyland April 11, and are trying to figure out how the best way to make a pregnancy announcement to my parents would be without them finding out. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Joseph, and congratulations!

    The Disneyland Resort is a place for celebration and making memories, so I think it is a beautiful idea to share the news of your future little one at the Happiest Place on Earth. I have a few ideas of how you can make it a special moment. 

    • One option is to sneak away to the "bathroom" but instead head over to a Guest Relations booth. Here, you can get free Celebration buttons, where you can ask the Cast Member to write something like "Future Grandparent." Then you can give the buttons to your parents when the moment feels extra magical.
    • Another option is to use a PhotoPass photographer to share the fantastic news. When you hand the PhotoPass photographer your phone for the "photo," whisper to them that you want a video instead, and ask them if they can say, "on the count of three, say I'm going to be a grandparent, one, two, three." This way, you get a recording of their live reaction. An excellent place for this would be in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle
    • You can surprise them with a Celebration Cake that says "Congratulations." Once the cake arrives at your table, you can tell them the news (or even share the buttons from option 1 at this time). Celebration Cakes are available at multiple restaurants throughout the resort, such as Cafe Orleans and the Lamplight Lounge. You just need to make sure you place your order at least three days in advance and that you secure a dining reservation as well. 
    • Order custom T-shirts that you bring with you in a backpack, and then hand them to your family in the park. This will make for great matching photos you can later use to share the news on social media. If you go with this option, you can rent a locker to store changes of clothes. 
    Whether you go with one of the ideas above or another announcement plan, I think your parents will be so happy to hear the news. Good luck, and congratulations again!
