My wife and I are going to Disney World Jan 22-29 to celebrate our 30th anniversary. i have made a couple of reservations for dinners. Would we be safe in just playing it by ear for the rest of our meals?

    Gareth,

In late January you will enjoy fairly light crowds, making it a time when you stand a better chance of being able to walk up to most table service restaurants and still get a table in a decent time frame. So what are the 'reservations' for a plan like this?
    1. Some restaurants and meals, like dinner at California Grill or breakfast in Cinderella Castle, ALWAYS require a reservation, really.
    2. Make reservations for any table service meals that you are fairly confident you will want to enjoy. You just never want to get closed out of a meal that you have your heart set on.

Bottom line is: Yes. You should be ok for most meals to be able to walk up to a decent table service restaurant. You may not get your first choice, but you should get something decent every time out.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
