Ahoy there, Daniel! Welcome aboard, and thank you so very much for your question.
Disney Cruise Line, like so many other cruise lines, has been maintaining a close eye on recommendations from the CDC, and they have been monitoring protocols and best practices to keep cruisers safe. While this practice is subject to change, if you check out the
Know Before You Go information, all cruisers, including those that are fully vaccinated, are required to perform a Covid test prior to boarding the ship.
The good news, Daniel, is you can now test in the comfort and convenience of your own home or at your hotel before you head to the port. You'll have to provide a negative Covid test result taken within 48 hours of your cruise, and you can upload the negative test results to Safe Passage prior to midnight on the day of sailing.
I've personally used eMed several times, and I find the service to be so easy and super flexible. They have 24-hour availability, and you do the test at home, monitored by an eMed representative. They walk you through taking the test, your results are emailed to you almost immediately after your test is complete, and the whole process - including a 15-minute wait period while your test results are achieved - is about 20 minutes. Other similar services are available, but make sure you order your tests in plenty of time.
If you're cruise leaves prior to June 7th, 2022 (the end of this week), you will be tested at the port.
I hope this helps with your planning, Daniel, and gets you in shipshape to go on your upcoming cruise!
Anna
