Hi. My wife and I will be coming 8/27-9/2/2012 & are planning to stay at PCR. We are very nervous because we have only stayed at OKW and POR before. Any suggestions? We are celebrating 5yr annv. Our honeymoon was spent at POR. Bad idea for just us?

Hi, Jason!  I don't think the Pop Century Resort is a bad idea for anyone, but it really depends what you expect to get out of your resort.  The theme is fantastic, the giant icons are so neat to see regardless of your age, and you'll have all the basic necessities at Pop.

The main difference between Pop Century and Port Orleans Riverside is that you won't have a full service restaurant, and the pool area is not as elaborate.  Your room is pretty much a basic resort room, although you'll find the theme carries through.

Consider how much time you spend at your resort.  Are you going to miss the full service restaurant?  Do you spend a lot of time at the pool?  What is it about Port Orleans Riverside that you enjoyed and would be disappointed not to have?

I've stayed without my girls at Pop Century several times, and have always enjoyed my stay at the resort.  I don't think it's a bad idea at all, but ask yourself a few questions about the things that are most important in a resort, and if Pop doesn't have them, you may want to rethink your resort choice.
