My wife and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary at disney. We are planning on staying at pop century. Should we get a preferred room, or go to standard. We would like to be in the quieter area of the resort.

Hi, Justin! I want to wish you and your wife a wonderful, magical, and very happy anniversary! Walt Disney World Resort is a fantastic place to celebrate a wedding anniversary as you look forward to many more pixie-dusted adventures together. We have lots of Panelists here who have spent their honeymoons and anniversaries there, so please stop by again if you would like more ideas on how to make your trip supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

I frequently stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort and was actually just there a couple of weeks ago. The Preferred guest rooms are located close to the main building and amenities, so their areas are a bit busier as compared to the Standard guest room locations. I have stayed in all sections of the resort and have found the outlying areas to really not be that far from the main building, yet they do seem a bit quieter.

If I was looking for a bit more adult-friendly location, I would definitely consider booking a Standard guest room and making a few key room requests. These can be submitted by completing Online Check-In and by calling a Disney Resort Hotel Reservations Cast Member, asking to have a notation put on your reservation that you are celebrating your wedding anniversary and would like a top floor room, preferably with a lake view. During my stays there, I have made this request and found that the rooms facing Hourglass Lake are usually much quieter! Please understand that a room request is simply that and cannot be guaranteed. However, it gives the room assigner a good idea of what you are looking for a why, increasing the chances that pixie dust may fall!

Thank you for stopping by and please let us know if we can help you plan more of your magical celebration!
