My wife and I are going to book The 70th Anniversary Tour on an upcoming trip to Disneyland. The details say it has reserved viewing for the Paint the Night Parade. What showing is the reserved viewing for? 8:45 or 10:45?

Welcome back to planDisney, Chad! The “A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour” looks like a fantastic way to explore the milestones that have shaped Disneyland Resort over the past seven decades. It’s actually at the top of my own must-do list for my summer visit, so I’m especially excited to help with your question today.

As you may already know, one of the highlights of this tour is a reserved viewing area for the Paint the Night parade, complete with a serving of that iconic Disneyland popcorn (because what’s a parade without a snack in hand while the dazzling floats dance through the night?) To get the latest scoop, I called the Tickets line and spoke with a helpful Cast Member. They shared that, at this time, they don’t yet have information about which parade performance (either the 8:45 PM or 10:45 PM showing) is included with the tour. However, they assured me that this detail should be released ahead of your tour date, so I recommend giving the Ticket line another call as your visit approaches for the most up-to-date info. I’ll also mention that during a previous holiday tour I experienced, the reserved viewing was for the first performance of the evening, though I’d definitely double-check closer to your reservation just in case.

And while we’re on the topic of magical updates, don’t forget: there’s even more to look forward to during Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration! Wondrous Journeys will return, transforming Sleeping Beauty Castle with fireworks, projection effects, and a tribute to Disney animation and music that’s sure to tug at the heartstrings. Over in Fantasyland, the all-new Tapestry of Happiness projection show will debut on the façade of “it’s a small world”, weaving together unforgettable Disney memories in a heartwarming nighttime display. And down Main Street, a lively cavalcade led by Mickey Mouse will bring even more smiles. It will featuring the return of Duffy the Disney Bear and the debut of ShellieMay in her first Disneyland cavalcade!

Across the Esplanade at Disney California Adventure, the celebration keeps going as World of Color Happiness!, lighting up Paradise Bay with inspiring moments from Disney and Pixar films. The energetic Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade will feature up to 30 beloved Pixar characters. And each evening, Carthay Circle Theatre will shine with lights, music, and projections that honor Disney’s storytelling legacy in a way only a location inspired by Walt Disney’s own story can.

Chad, I hope this gives you even more to look forward to this summer at the Disneyland Resort! If any more questions pop up, or if you just want to chat about all the excitement, please don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.

    Have a spectacular visit!
