Why does it say that Disney is closing at 7pm on Aug.18th ? and can I change my reservation ?

Welcome to planDisney, Evelyn! Your magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is next week! I’m so excited for you! Thanks for sending us your planning question.

Sometimes during the year, the theme parks do close a bit earlier. I did notice that the Magic Kingdom Park closes at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th. If you have the park hopper option on your ticket, you can still enjoy some fun at Disney Hollywood Studios or EPCOT until 9 p.m.
You can always make the most of your theme park day by getting to the Magic Kingdom right when it opens at 9 a.m., then you can hop over to another park as early as 2 p.m. My family really likes visiting EPCOT at night. The World Showcase pavilions are all lit up and are so beautiful at night!

If you did want to cancel your Disney Park Pass and select another park, as of right now, EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are available. To cancel your reservation, go to your My Disney Experience account and select "My Plans". Find the reservation that you want to change and click on "View Details". On the next page, you will want to click on "Cancel This Reservation", selecting all the guests whose reservation needs to be canceled. The system will then ask you to confirm the change and once you do, you're all done!

Now don’t forget to make your new reservation! It’s such an important step. Without a reservation you won’t be able to visit the theme parks.

Evelyn, I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any more planning questions you can always come back to visit us here or at planDisney en Español. ¡Siempre es nuestro placer ayudarte con todos los detalles de tu próxima visita!

    ¡Hasta pronto!
