Bright suns, Rian, and welcome to planDisney where the Force is strong! It looks like you will arrive soon in a galaxy far, far away, or as I call it, Walt Disney World Resort! Let's talk about experiencing
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attractions during your adventure.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance takes you on a battle against the First Order where you're plunged into the middle of the action. I was in awe and speechless the first time I experienced this attraction! It's a must-do for any Star Wars lover, and I've been a fan since I saw the first movie many decades ago with my dad. Love it, I do!
When new attractions premiere at Disney theme parks, they sometimes offer a virtual queue or other ways to manage crowds. The goal is to allow as many people as possible to experience the new attraction. As time goes on, ride options will evolve to offer standby queues and more. When Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance first debuted, for example, it offered a virtual queue but no standby line.
Currently, you can ride this attraction by joining a traditional standby queue. I've done this and waited about an hour. My friends and I grabbed some Outpost Popcorn Mix from
Kat Saka's Kettle and chatted to pass the time. For us, the experience was well worth the wait. If you decide to go this route, my tip is to be at
Disney's Hollywood Studios at park opening and head straight to the queue.
For a more streamlined experience, you can opt for an
Individual Lightning Lane entry for Rise of the Resistance. This can be purchased separately in your mobile app at 7:00 AM if you're a Disney Resort Hotel guest, or at park opening if you're staying offsite. With this option, you can select a return time, ensuring a much shorter.
Attractions offering Individual Lightning Lane entry are not typically included with the purchase of
Disney Genie+ service. The general trend is that once the initial excitement around a ride subsides, it becomes part of the Disney Genie+ options. Currently, Rise of the Resistance is not offered as part of Disney Genie+ service, but who knows what the future holds? In the meantime, you can enjoy the convenience of Lightning Lane entry with the purchase of Disney Genie+ service for
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and
Star Tours.
Rian, I'm waving my lightsaber to bring you luck on your visit so you can experience a battle against the dark side. Please
stop by planDisney anytime. Til the spire!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
