Hi Caroline!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mickey can be a mysterious mouse sometimes, but he usually has his reasons for wanting to retire to bed sooner rather than later. Usually, he plans his bedtime on the anticipated crowd levels and will close the theme parks based on that. During busy times such as holidays, spring break, and summer, the parks stay open later so Mickey can be sure to greet all his Guests. During quieter times you may find the parks close earlier.
Currently, the
official park hours show me 8 pm closing times at the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, and a 9 pm closing at Epcot for the first week of March. Then I see 9 pm closing times at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot from March 8 through 11, 2020, along with 8 pm closing at Animal Kingdom and 8:30 pm at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The remainder of the month does not have posted hours yet. I will also say that park hours are known to change. While it would be unusual for a park to close earlier than originally posted, I have on many occasions had the parks announce additional hours in the weeks leading up to my visit. I would continue to check back as hours could be adjusted.
If you’ll be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you’ll also be able to use
Extra Magic Hours, where the parks open up to an hour early or stay open several hours later especially for Resort Hotel Guests. My family loves to take advantage of these Extra Magic Hours for lower than usual crowds and cooler temperatures. If you are thinking of booking a Disney Resort Hotel, keep an eye on the
Special Offers Page for any discounts that may become available! I hope this helps, Caroline. Please let me know if you have any more questions as you get ready for your visit.
Happy Planning!
