I love how Disney parks use
virtual queues to help manage wait times for new attractions. Everyone is excited to experience something novel or reimagined, and virtual queues are a fantastic way to allow guests to ride with manageable wait times. Once an attraction has been around for a bit, the virtual queue often ends to make way for a traditional queue and/or Lightning Lane options.
You can see the current virtual queue offerings in your mobile app by selecting "Virtual Queues" under the My Visit section. Tap the "Join Virtual Queue" button and then toggle between theme parks to see offerings.
Currently, the only virtual queues are for
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and
Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park. There's also a virtual queue in place to meet Santa Claus at Disney Springs!
At Animal Kingdom, guests have several options to experience a variety of attractions. Most experiences offer a traditional standby queue, but my secret tip is to use the single-rider line for
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. You'll be chasing the Yeti, or vice versa, in no time!
Another option is to purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass for an opportunity to have shorter wait times for several attractions at Animal Kingdom. Be sure to ride
DINOSAUR since it will close soon to make way for a new Tropical Americas land.
Finally, you can purchase a
Lightning Lane Single Pass for Avatar Flight of Passage. My husband says this is his favorite ride in all the parks! You'll enjoy an exhilarating tour of Pandora aboard a banshee. If I close my eyes, I can imagine the wind in my hair while my steed breathes in time with my heartbeat. It's magical!
