Hi Barbara!
I’m sorry you are having difficulty making Dining Reservations at the
Carnation Cafe. With
yummy options like Mickey-shaped waffles for breakfast, and Walt’s Chili or a patty melt for lunch, it is a very popular location for a comforting meal.
You are not alone in having struggles making
dining reservations recently. I was finally able to make reservations for our November visit, but I still missed out on my first choices. I have a few ideas of what might be giving you trouble, Barbara. In the past, it was pretty easy to grab a dining reservation at the Disneyland Resort. As someone who frequently visits the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, I remember I was shocked that on the west coast, planning your days months in advance wasn’t necessary. However, with COVID-19 precautions in place, and so many Guests ready for some magic, dining reservations at the Disneyland Resort have become harder to secure.
The Carnation Cafe is open and serving both breakfast and lunch. It is, however, fairly booked up. Dining Reservations open “up to” 60 days in advance. Sometimes they open right at the 60-day mark, and other times it may be a week or two later. My Thanksgiving Weekend reservations didn’t open until the 44-day mark! So initially, it could be that you were too early, or even possibly too late. Currently, when I open the Carnation Cafe webpage, I do see times and dates listed. If you are opening this page and don’t see this, try a different browser, or open a “new private browser” if you use an Apple computer, or use “incognito mode” if you use a windows based computer. It seems that “cookies” (whatever those are!) build up and sometimes those Disney webpages get glitchy. Using a “new private window” always fixes the issue for me.
I will warn you, I don’t currently see any reservations available for mid-November. The only day I see reservations available is December 14. With the current popularity of visiting Disneyland, things are simply booked tight. I would recommend you check back regularly, even daily, to see if other Guests cancel in the days leading up to your visit. You never know when you might find someone else’s cancelation! You can also try
Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability on the day of your visit on the
Disneyland Mobile App.I hope this helps to answer your question, Barbara. Sending you pixie dust for that perfect lunch reservation!
